Trofarello, Italy Opens New Community Health Center to Boost Local Care

On 13 July the Casa della Comunità di Trofarello was inaugurated as the latest territorial health hub of ASL TO5. The centre consolidates general practitioners, family and community nurses, a single access point for socio‑health services, specialist outpatient clinics, psychologists, legal‑medicine services, home‑care and an information centre for immigrant health.

It is designed to give integrated, continuous care especially for patients with chronic conditions such as heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, aiming to reduce re‑hospitalisations. ASL TO5 director‑general Bruno Osella highlighted the importance of coordinated teamwork and the role of the primary‑care doctor in guiding patients through a shared care pathway.
