Tropical Storm Julio forms in the Pacific Ocean

Tropical Storm Julio has formed in the Pacific Ocean, developing from Tropical Depression Ten-E. The storm is currently located approximately 1,086 kilometers west-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, with maximum sustained winds of about 80 km/h (50 mph).

Meteorologists from the National Hurricane Center indicate that Julio is expected to be absorbed by Tropical Storm Iselle, a more powerful system located further north, within the coming hours. Iselle is positioned roughly 1,175 kilometers west of Baja California with winds of 113 km/h (70 mph).

While Julio and Iselle do not currently pose a direct threat to land and no coastal warnings are active, authorities are monitoring the area closely. Additionally, a low-pressure area associated with tropical wave number 31 has a 90% probability of developing into a cyclone over the next seven days. This system could increase rainfall across various regions of Mexico, particularly in the western, southern, and southeastern states.
