Tropical Storm Pilandok nears exit from Philippine Area of Responsibility

Tropical Storm Pilandok, known internationally as Krovanh, is approaching the exit of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). As of recent updates, the storm was located approximately 1,030 km east-northeast of extreme northern Luzon, moving northwestward at speeds between 10 and 20 km/h.

The storm packs maximum sustained winds of approximately 75 kph and gusts reaching up to 90 kph. While no wind signals have been hoisted over any part of the Philippines due to its distance from the landmass, the weather bureau has issued gale warnings for several coastal areas.

PAGASA reports that Pilandok is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon, or habagat, which will bring heavy rainfall and strong gusts across much of Luzon, Visayas, and parts of Mindanao. Coastal waters remain hazardous, with wave heights reaching up to 5.0 meters in certain northern seaboards.
