Tropical Wave 24 Brings Heat and Isolated Showers to Oaxaca

A tropical wave numbered 24 is moving over the Mexican state of Oaxaca, raising maximum temperatures above 35 °C across the Isthmus, the coast and low‑lying areas of the Papaloapan basin, with some locations expected to reach 40 °C. The wave is also generating a chance of isolated rain showers and short‑lived thunderstorms, especially in the Costa, Sierra Sur, Mixteca and the lower Papaloapan basin.

The Coordinación Estatal de Protección Civil y Gestión de Riesgos (CEPCyGR) advises residents to follow civil‑protection recommendations, stay informed through official channels, and be prepared for moderate south‑southwest winds and possible electrical activity during the afternoon and night.
