Três Lagoas hosts first Citizenship Fair and largest health mutirão with up to 15,000 services
The municipality of Três Lagoas (Mato Grosso do Sul) organized its inaugural Feira da Cidadania on Saturday, July 27, at the Escola Municipal Elaine de Sá Costa in the Novo Oeste neighbourhood. The event, running from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., was presented by Secretary of Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation Marcos Antônio Gomes Júnior as a one‑stop venue where residents can access health, social, education, legal, employment and document services, strengthening ties between the city government and the community.
From July 6‑10 the municipal health department will hold the city’s largest health mutirão at the Rural Union exhibition park. The five‑day campaign is designed to deliver up to 15 000 specialized appointments, including more than 4 000 consultations in endocrinology, neurology, psychiatry, rheumatology, vascular surgery, orthopaedics and allergy, plus extensive diagnostic testing such as 1 000 eye exams, 600 retinal mappings, 800 mammographies, 700 breast ultrasounds, 433 transvaginal ultrasounds, 400 male urinary ultrasounds, thousands of general ultrasounds, 800 ecocardiograms, 800 Doppler studies, 350 EEGs and numerous CT scans. Patients on the municipal waiting list will be contacted, while additional slots are available for spontaneous demand.
