Truck collision on BR-262 leaves one dead in Minas Gerais
A fatal head-on collision between two semi-trucks occurred on the BR-262 highway near Córrego Danta, in the Midwest region of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The accident took place around 8:35 PM on a Tuesday during rainy conditions.
The incident involved a DAF truck carrying an empty livestock trailer traveling toward the state capital, and a Volvo truck carrying asphalt cement traveling in the opposite direction. As the vehicles navigated a curve on the wet pavement, they collided head-on.
The 52-year-old driver of the Volvo truck died at the scene. The driver of the DAF truck was uninjured. The Federal Highway Police (PRF) and Civil Police attended the scene to conduct investigations and manage traffic, while the victim's body was transported to the Medical Legal Institute in Luz.
