Fatal highway collisions in Brazil

Overview

A series of fatal head-on collisions occurred on various highways across Brazil in late August and early September 2026.

On August 31, a collision between a Toyota Hilux SW4 and a Ford EcoSport on the BR-354 highway near Rio Paranaíba resulted in two deaths, including a 62-year-old woman. On September 2, a head-on crash between two semi-trucks on the BR-262 highway in Minas Gerais, occurring during rainy conditions, killed a 52-year-old driver.

On September 4, a 49-year-old driver died in Paulínia, São Paulo, after crossing a central median on the SP-332 highway and striking a truck. Local authorities and police are investigating the circumstances of these individual incidents.
