Truck collisions shut sections of highways in Manisa and Konya, Turkey
Two separate truck accidents in western and central Turkey caused road closures and injured drivers. In Manisa's Kula district, a rain‑slick road caused one truck to lose control and cross into oncoming traffic, colliding with another truck. Both drivers were seriously injured and taken to hospital, and traffic on the D300 highway was temporarily halted until cleared.
In Konya, a truck veered into the opposite lane on the Karapınar road, blocking the route entirely. Authorities reported that the driver may have fallen asleep, but no other vehicle was present, preventing a larger disaster. The road was cleared and reopened after the truck was removed.
Both incidents prompted emergency response teams, temporary traffic disruptions, and investigations into the causes of the accidents.
