Truck crash on Italy's A1 near Valdarno causes congestion, stretch reopens

A tanker truck obstructed the A1 Milan‑Naples highway at kilometre 356 near Valdarno, forcing a temporary closure of the segment between Valdarno and Arezzo in the Rome‑bound direction. Emergency crews, firefighters, road police and Autostrade per l'Italia personnel cleared the scene, after which traffic resumed on all available lanes.

During the blockage, queues of 7‑9 km built up, adding roughly 20–30 minutes to travel times. Authorities advised drivers to divert onto SR 69 towards Arezzo or, for longer journeys, to exit at Impruneta and follow signs to Siena via SS 326 before rejoining the A1 at Valdichiana. The affected stretch has now been reopened, easing congestion.
