Truck driver fined 11.8 million VND for unsafe transport of concrete poles in Ho Chi Minh City
On 1 June, a truck driver identified as L.V.N. (born 1986, Thanh Hóa) was observed transporting two concrete poles, each over 5 metres long and weighing about 600 kg, on the roof of his truck on Thới An 16 road in Ho Chi Minh City. The cargo was not secured as required by traffic regulations. The traffic police recorded multiple violations, including loading goods on the roof, exceeding permitted weight limits, and failing to tie down the load.
The driver was fined a total of 11.8 million VND and had four points deducted from his driving licence. The vehicle’s owner was also fined 20 million VND for allowing the unsafe transport. Police highlighted the need for strict compliance with loading and securing rules to prevent accidents.
