Vietnam traffic authorities issue multiple fines for various violations

Authorities in Vietnam have issued several significant fines for various traffic violations across different provinces.

In Hanoi, a driver was fined 23 million VND and lost 10 license points for using two different license plates on a single VinFast VF5. The driver admitted to the act, claiming he used a different plate on the rear of the vehicle to avoid being caught by AI-powered traffic cameras for 'cold fines'.

In Hue, a truck driver faced a 41.5 million VND fine and a three-month license suspension after running a red light at a railway crossing. The collision damaged the safety latch and two warning lights on the barrier.

Other notable enforcement actions include a 13 million VND fine for a driver in Quang Ninh who failed to place warning signals at the correct distance (only 18 meters instead of the required 150 meters) after a vehicle breakdown on the Hai Phong - Mong Cai expressway. Additionally, a female driver was fined 19 million VND in Quang Ngai for driving against traffic on a highway, and a driver in Lao Cai was fined 5 million VND for failing to maintain a safe distance from a container truck on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway.
