Truck driver from Orizaba found dead in Estado de México

José Antonio De la Rosa Zárate, a 42-year-old truck driver from Orizaba, Veracruz, was found dead in the State of Mexico on September 26. He had been missing since September 21 while transporting autotanks toward Toluca.

GPS data indicated his last known location was near the Tultepec toll booth in the early hours of September 21. The tracking system subsequently showed the vehicle being moved toward Ecatepec de Morelos, where the autotanks were later abandoned. His body was discovered in the area where the tanks were located.

The National Association of Carriers (ANTAC) has criticized the federal government's security measures, specifically citing the failure of the 'Zero Cargo Theft Plan' and the 'Balam Strategy' operated by the National Guard. ANTAC leader David Estévez Gamboa warned of potential mobilizations if authorities do not produce results regarding the rising insecurity in the transport sector.
