Truck overturns on Italy's A16 highway, causing major traffic disruption

A large truck with a semi‑trailer broke through the guardrail and came to rest between the rail and the side embankment on the A16 motorway between Benevento and Avellino (km 56). The incident forced the closure of the northbound carriageway, halting traffic and creating long queues. Police, fire crews and emergency medical teams were dispatched to secure the site and begin recovery operations. Drivers were directed to use the SS7 route via Pratola Serra to re‑enter the A16 near Avellino. Details on any injuries or the cause of the crash have not yet been released.
