Following an intense search and tactical operation by the Peruvian National Police (PNP), Lara was rescued alive and found in stable condition. In a related development, Jhonsson Smith Cruz Torres, identified as a leader of ‘Los Pulpos,’ was captured in La Paz, Bolivia, following an international coordination effort. The incident has triggered a political crisis for President Keiko Fujimori, leading to emergency cabinet meetings and calls for increased security measures in the La Libertad region.
