Truls Möregårdh eliminated from WTT Europe Smash in Malmö

Defending champion Truls Möregårdh has been eliminated in the opening round of the WTT Europe Smash tournament in Malmö. The Swedish player lost his match in straight sets to Germany's Dimitrij Ovtcharov.

Ovtcharov, currently ranked 29th in the world, secured a 3–0 victory with set scores of 11–9, 11–3, and 11–8. Möregårdh attributed his performance to nerves, stating he entered the match incorrectly and described the result as a major disappointment following his success last year.
