Trump Admin Starts Refunds for Tariffs Rejected by Supreme Court, Seeks New Import Taxes

The Trump administration opened a program to refund more than $166 billion in tariffs ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, launching an online portal for importers and customs brokers to file claims and receive reimbursements plus interest.

Those refunds cover duties paid on tariffs ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, and the administration continues to adjust tariff policy as it implements the refunds.

The move follows the Supreme Court's February ruling against the tariffs, after which President Donald Trump promptly rolled out temporary import taxes to replace them and signaled that new import taxes would be pursued to replace the rejected tariffs.
