Trump administration allegedly attempted to bribe IRGC leader Ahmad Vahidi

The Trump administration reportedly attempted a large-scale operation to fracture the Iranian state by bribing senior military leadership. According to sources within the inner circle of Mojtaba Khamenei, the operation aimed to induce Ahmad Vahidi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and other high-ranking officials to break from the central government in Tehran.

The proposed inducements reportedly totaled billions of dollars. The strategy, described as being modeled on approaches used in Venezuela, sought to isolate the central command and create conditions for regime decapitation.

A communication channel for this purpose had been established in May 2026 through Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq. This conduit was facilitated by then-DNI Tulsi Gabbard with authorization from Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. However, the attempt was unsuccessful as Ahmad Vahidi rejected the offers.
