Trump claims Iran accepts US nuclear inspections and talks are progressing
President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that Iran has "fully and completely accepted" high‑level nuclear inspections for an indefinite period. He said the United States will keep the Strait of Hormuz open but can re‑impose a naval blockade if needed, while Venezuelan‑controlled funds will be released to purchase U.S. food and medical supplies for Iran. Trump added that 19 million barrels of oil have left the Strait, causing oil prices to fall.
Vice‑president JD Vance later said negotiations with Iranian officials in Switzerland have laid a solid foundation for a definitive peace agreement, although Iran has denied initiating any nuclear discussions.
