Trump claims Iran has agreed to unlimited top‑level nuclear inspections

President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social on 23 March claiming that Iran has accepted "unlimited" top‑level nuclear inspections and that this agreement guarantees nuclear transparency. He added that without such acceptance no further negotiations would have taken place, and he linked the inspections to keeping the Strait of Hormuz open without imposing an additional naval blockade.

Iran’s foreign ministry rejected the statement, saying no agreement exists for IAEA inspections of its nuclear facilities and no protocol was signed. Tehran also clarified that the frozen Iranian assets to be released can be spent without the requirement to purchase U.S. agricultural products, and that missile‑related issues have not been part of any negotiation. The U.S. Treasury intends to place the released funds in an escrow account for the purchase of U.S. food and medical supplies.
