Trump crypto profits and business interests face public scrutiny in new poll
A Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted in August 2026 reveals that 63% of Americans believe it is inappropriate for President Donald Trump and his family to profit from cryptocurrency ventures while in office. The survey also found that 69% of respondents believe Trump’s private business interests influence his presidential decisions, a sentiment shared by 90% of Democrats and approximately 48% of Republicans.
Financial disclosures indicate the Trump family earned over $1.4 billion in 2025 from crypto-related activities, including the World Liberty Financial platform and the Official Trump (TRUMP) meme coin. Total estimated profits from all Trump-linked crypto projects have reached at least $2.3 billion. Critics and lawmakers, including Senator Elizabeth Warren, have raised concerns regarding potential conflicts of interest.
The White House has denied these allegations. Spokesperson Anna Kelly stated that there are no conflicts of interest and that the president’s investments are managed by independent financial institutions.
