Trump predicts Iran conflict resolution will stabilize energy markets
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran is not in a good position and expressed expectations that the military confrontation will conclude soon. Trump suggested that once the issue regarding Iran is resolved, energy markets will stabilize, potentially returning oil prices to levels seen before the conflict.
In response to global energy concerns, G7 leaders have coordinated a plan to release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil from strategic reserves over the next four months to curb rising prices. President Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron have both indicated that there will be no bans on exports among G7 nations to ensure price reductions.
Iranian officials have responded to the escalating tensions. Mohsen Rezaee, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, dismissed Trump's rhetoric, stating that while the U.S. President may find victory in his imagination, the reality is shaped by Iran's people, military, and missile capabilities. Additionally, Iran's Acting Defense Minister, Brigadier General Majid Ibn al-Rida, urged the U.S. administration to focus on its own internal crises rather than engaging in military posturing.
