Trump says Iran oil sale proceeds will go to US Treasury escrow to buy American farm goods

President Donald Trump announced that proceeds from Iran's oil sales, currently held under sanctions, will be transferred to a U.S. Treasury escrow account. The funds are earmarked for the purchase of American agricultural products, various consumer goods and medical supplies intended for the Iranian population.

Fox News analyst Lawrence Kadlo explained that the money will be used to buy items such as corn and soy from the United States, framing the arrangement as a way to help feed Iran’s people while providing revenue to U.S. farmers. Trump added that the administration has full control over the process and emphasized that the funds will not be used to rebuild Iran’s military capabilities.

The statements were made during a White House ceremony in which Trump signed executive orders on quantum technology and cyber‑security, linking the sanctions relief to broader U.S. policy goals.
