Trump Says Next Phase of Iran Nuclear Talks at G7 Will Be Easier

He said the next talks will focus on technical issues of Iran’s nuclear program, a $300 billion reconstruction fund for Tehran and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and stressed that the United States will not invest its own money in the Iranian economy.

Trump added that Iran’s current leadership is “very rational” and that he does not aim for a regime change, insisting the country will not acquire nuclear weapons. He also voiced criticism of Israel’s handling of Hezbollah and Lebanon, saying Israel should have acted more quickly. The president indicated that, after the Iran agreement, his focus will shift toward the war in Ukraine, describing the Russian conflict as “a huge loss of lives on both sides.”
