Trump seeks to block tariff rebate payouts after Supreme Court ruling

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the tariffs imposed by the administration were unlawful and ordered that importers be refunded the duties they had paid. Approximately 330,000 companies have begun receiving repayments since May 12, with applications totalling more than 780 billion Swedish kronor, about half of the collected amounts.

President Donald Trump announced that his administration will move to halt these payments, arguing that the refunds are improper. The Justice Department said it will appeal the court's decision and is preparing legal steps to stop the disbursements to the affected import firms.
