Donald Trump outlines US‑Iran grain deal and free Hormuz passage

President Donald Trump said the United States will soon buy large quantities of American wheat, soybeans and corn from U.S. farmers using frozen Iranian assets, describing the move as a "very large" new market for Iranian consumers.

Trump added that any charge for ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz would be unacceptable, stating that free, fee‑free navigation is a basic element of any agreement with Iran. He referenced the recent memorandum of understanding that ends the U.S.–Iran military clash, calls for the United States to lift its maritime blockade, and includes Iranian commitments on its nuclear programme, with 60‑day negotiations to follow.
