Trutnov conducts active shooter and high-voltage rescue drills
Emergency services in the Czech Republic conducted large-scale tactical exercises to improve response capabilities for critical incidents. In Trutnov, municipal and state police, firefighters, and medical teams simulated a response to two active shooters at a school. The drill involved testing communication between agencies, the use of panic buttons, and the coordination of patrols to secure the building and protect individuals hiding in classrooms.
In the South Bohemian region, a separate multi-agency exercise focused on high-voltage rescue operations. Firefighters, mountain rescue services, and the Czech Army practiced rescuing a collapsed worker from a 25-meter high-voltage pylon. The training included aerial rescue techniques using a W-A3 Sokol helicopter from the 243rd Helicopter Squadron to lift a person from height using a specialized hoist.
