Trutnov selects winning design for Nový Křižík urban redevelopment

The city of Trutnov has announced the winning design for the redevelopment of the Nový Křižík area, a 9.6-hectare site located near the historic center. The winning proposal, submitted by the studio Neuvirt Novotná architekti, aims to transform the industrial zone into a multifunctional district.

The plan includes the construction of over 300 residential units designed to support intergenerational living, alongside shops, services, and public spaces. Key features of the development include a new municipal library, accessible riverfront areas along the Úpa river, and a more space-efficient bus station integrated with underground parking.

The project is being developed in cooperation with the industrial area owner, TTC ATRIUM, and involves both municipal and private land. The design emphasizes pedestrian connectivity and the integration of parks and water elements within the residential blocks.
