TSA expands Gateside PreCheck access to over 300 airports

The TSA has expanded its ‘Gateside by TSA PreCheck’ program to more than 300 airports, allowing eligible non-flying visitors to access terminal areas beyond security checkpoints. Under this program, members of qualifying trusted traveler programs with a Known Traveler Number (KTN) can request a free pass to meet arriving passengers, accompany travelers to departure gates, or utilize airport amenities like dining and shopping.

To use the service, eligible individuals must apply one to three days in advance via the TSA website using Login.gov. Approved visitors must still undergo standard security screening and are required to present a live approval on their mobile device, as screenshots or printouts are not accepted. The pass is valid for one calendar day, and any accompanying children must be included in the initial registration.

Syracuse Hancock International Airport has officially launched the program, though it will initially limit availability to 75 Gateside passes per day. While the expansion covers a vast number of locations, including Atlanta and various airports from Anchorage to Asheville, availability may still be subject to individual airport limitations.
