TSA Gateside PreCheck pilot program

Overview

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has launched a pilot program titled ‘Gateside by TSA PreCheck’. This initiative allows eligible non-travelers with an active TSA PreCheck membership or other qualifying trusted-traveler program to access secure, post-security airport gates.

Participants must apply online one to three days in advance and may use the free, one-day pass for multiple entries. The program is currently being rolled out at 13 U.S. airports, including Los Angeles International, Dallas-Fort Worth International, Harry Reid International, and Salt Lake City International. The TSA plans to evaluate the program for potential expansion.

Additionally, the TSA is considering a limited rollout that would allow PreCheck passengers to carry full water bottles through security at airports equipped with advanced CT screening technology, though this would not replace the existing 3-1-1 liquids rule.
