Tsawwassen First Nation: Two dead in fatal collision at Tsawwassen Mills

A serious vehicle collision in the parking lot of the Tsawwassen Mills shopping centre resulted in the deaths of two pedestrians and injuries to two others on Wednesday, September 30. The incident occurred on Tsawwassen First Nation lands in South Delta, British Columbia, shortly before 10:30 a.m.

Delta Police stated that preliminary information suggests the driver of the involved vehicle may have experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash. Authorities confirmed the collision was not an intentional attack and was unrelated to the National Truth and Reconciliation Day community walk being held by the Tsawwassen First Nation at the time.

The collision caused the Tsawwassen First Nation to end its scheduled ceremony early. Emergency responders, including ambulance crews and a helicopter, were dispatched to the scene. Delta Police have advised the public to avoid the area but noted there is no ongoing risk to public safety.
