TSE to judge 13 presidential candidacy registrations in Brazil
The Brazilian Superior Electoral Court (TSE) has scheduled the virtual judgment of 13 presidential candidacy registrations to begin on Monday, August 31. The electronic voting process will remain open until September 2.
Among the candidates seeking registration are Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Flávio Bolsonaro, Romeu Zema, Ronaldo Caiado, and Pablo Marçal. The court has already issued a preliminary injunction regarding Pablo Marçal, temporarily prohibiting him from campaigning, participating in debates, or appearing in radio and television advertising. This measure follows a request from the Electoral Public Ministry (MPE), which claims Marçal is ineligible until 2032 due to a prior conviction in São Paulo related to the 2024 municipal elections.
