TSUTAYA to close major stores in Osaka

TSUTAYA has announced the closure of two major locations in Osaka. The TSUTAYA EBISUBASHI branch, a landmark in the Dotonbori district that has operated since 2003, will close on January 11, 2027, following the expiration of its lease. The store has served as a cultural hub and a significant location for fans of local artists and entertainment.

While the main store is closing, the Osaka IP Bookstore, located on the first basement level, is scheduled to relocate within Osaka City in the spring of 2026. Details regarding the new location and opening date have not yet been released.

Additionally, the TSUTAYA Abenobashi branch in the Tennoji area will close on October 4, 2024. The final rental services at that location will conclude on September 27.
