TSV 1860 München draws 2-2 in Regionalliga Bayern season opener
TSV 1860 München began its Regionalliga Bayern campaign with a 2‑2 draw against 1. FC Schweinfurt in front of 7,567 spectators. New head coach Alper Kayabunar called the point a "mutmacher" (encouragement) despite the team's limited preparation, as many players had only just joined and had little joint training.
The match featured goals from Michael Eberwein, who equalised in the 34th minute, and a late strike by Schweinfurt. Captain Dennis Dressel, a former 1860 youth player, led the side. The club also debuted new kits that omit the traditional lion emblem and player names due to a trademark dispute with former investor Hasan Ismaik, displaying only the text "TSV München von 1860 e. V." on the shirts.
Kayabunar, promoted from interim to permanent coach two weeks earlier, expressed satisfaction with the team's performance given the circumstances.
