TSV 1860 München rallies fans for Regionalliga restart

TSV 1860 München, forced into the Regionalliga Bayern after a dispute with investor Hasan Ismaik, has launched a high‑profile restart. The club unveiled a new logo without the traditional lion and a three‑year kit deal with local brand Societas, featuring a light‑blue and white striped home shirt that carries the historic oval FA crest and the slogan “FOOTBALL FOR THE PEOPLE.”

Fan enthusiasm surged as roughly 4,000 supporters travelled to Schweinfurt for the opening match, turning the away game into a de‑facto home fixture. Coach Alper Kayabunar described the atmosphere as “extremely motivated” and said he “had almost tears in his eyes.” President Gernot Mang echoed the sentiment, calling the unity “unique in Germany.” The club also highlighted a crowdfunding effort that raised over €250,000 for the kit slogan. Together, the new branding, kit launch, and massive fan turnout signal a determined effort to rebuild the club’s fortunes in the fourth tier.
