TSV 1860 Munich loses license, forced into Regionalliga as investor Ismaik opens fanshop

TSV 1860 Munich’s licence for the 3. Liga was revoked after the club failed to provide the required €2.7 million, prompting the German Football Association to relegate the team to the Regionalliga Bayern for the 2026‑27 season. Investor Hasan Ismaik, whose company HAM had recently terminated its cooperation agreement with the club, defended his actions, saying the club’s management bears responsibility. He stated on social media, “Before we assign full responsibility, we should first understand who actually had decision‑making power,” and added, “The club is not an investor. It is not a president.”

Despite the turmoil, HAM GmbH opened a new fanshop at Munich Airport, attended by roughly 150 fans and Turkish Consul‑General Süleyman Erdoğan. Club president Gernot Mang expressed disappointment, noting that both the club’s executive board and the parent organization had relied on prior assurances that were not fulfilled.
