TSV 1860 Munich starts Regionalliga training amid financial and legal crisis

TSV 1860 München, forced to drop from the 3. Liga to the Regionalliga Bayern after investor Hasan Ismaik stopped funding, resumed training on 15 June under U21 coach Alper Kayabunar. The session featured U21 players and former professional squad members while the club still lacks a signed senior roster and a permanent coach.

The club’s future remains uncertain: legal disputes over the cooperation contract with Ismaik continue, the KGaA’s branding rights are still contested, and a new logo and Joma jerseys have arrived but may never be used. Fans have responded by demanding refunds of season‑ticket fees, citing the loss of the club’s licence to field a team.

Club officials emphasise that preparations for the 2026/27 season, including budget planning and stadium rent negotiations, are ongoing despite the looming threat of insolvency.
