TSV 1860 Munich insolvency jeopardizes season and fans' tickets

The professional arm of TSV 1860 Munich – the TSV München von 1860 GmbH & Co. KGaA – filed for insolvency at the Munich District Court on 23 June 2026 after a dispute with investor Hasan Ismaik and the loss of a €7.5 million loan that forced the club’s relegation to the Regionalliga Bayern (fourth tier). The court appointed insolvency administrator Max Liebig to safeguard assets and assess possible restructuring or liquidation.

The club’s management announced the creation of a new GmbH under the parent association to take over the professional football operations and to field a team in the 4 Liga. Meanwhile, season‑ticket holders risk losing up to €4 million, as their payments may be treated as ordinary unsecured claims in the insolvency process. An interview with insolvency expert Patric Naumann explained that unless the funds are held in a separate escrow account, fans could lose most of their advance payments.

TSV 1860 also submitted a request to the Bavarian Football Association for a match‑free opening round to buy time for the restructuring, while the league schedule is being finalized. The situation leaves the club’s future, its fan base, and local football dynamics in uncertainty.
