Neuquén announces industrial expansion and infrastructure plans

Neuquén Governor Rolando Figueroa and Economy Minister Guillermo Koenig have announced a comprehensive industrial and infrastructure strategy aimed at diversifying the province's economy beyond oil and gas. The Provincial Industrial Plan targets the development of over 1,100 hectares of industrial parks across Plaza Huincul, Añelo, Zapala, and Neuquén capital to add value to the Vaca Muerta formation.

To support this growth, the provincial government is pursuing a financing agreement in Houston with major energy operators, including YPF, Chevron, and Shell, to pre-finance approximately 1,000 kilometers of road works. Additionally, Energy Minister Gustavo Medele detailed plans to expand the gas network to various localities, addressing capacity limits in regions like Zapala and Junín de los Andes.

Separately, Buenos Aires will host the first Urban Cities Federal Congress on September 2, 2026. The event will bring together representatives from 300 cities and 24 jurisdictions to discuss digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and sustainable urban management.
