Tucumán health authorities launch vaccination drive and medical training initiatives

The Ministry of Public Health of Tucumán is implementing several initiatives to strengthen the provincial healthcare system. On Saturday, September 12, a vaccination campaign will be held at Peatonal Muñecas in San Miguel de Tucumán from 10:00 to 14:00. The drive focuses on influenza vaccines for high-risk groups, including seniors over 65, pregnant women, children aged 6 to 24 months, and individuals with comorbidities. Additionally, the campaign will offer vaccinations against the respiratory syncytial virus for pregnant women between 32 and 36 weeks of gestation to protect newborns.

Simultaneously, the Ministry of Public Health and the Faculty of Medicine at the National University of Tucumán are collaborating to enhance practical training for medical students. A new initiative aims to allow fifth-year medical students to participate in hospital shifts through a competitive selection process. This pilot program will involve training in clinical and obstetric emergencies, allowing students to gain early experience in reference hospitals such as Hospital Padilla, Hospital Avellaneda, and Hospital del Niño Jesús.
