FUNDACAM to host free medical prevention day in San Juan de la Maguana

The National Foundation of Cardiology and Medical Assistance (FUNDACAM) will hold its third free medical prevention day on Saturday, October 31, at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) campus in San Juan de la Maguana.

The initiative, led by cardiologist Tirso Roa Castillo, will offer various services including cardiology, internal medicine, general medicine, urology, gynecology, and electrocardiograms. Additionally, the event will provide prostate exams, PSA testing, Pap smears, and the distribution of medications.

Dr. Roa Castillo emphasized the importance of individual and family prevention, noting that cardiovascular events often increase toward the end of the year. He encouraged the community to overcome the fear of medical check-ups to ensure timely intervention and better health outcomes.
