Tucumán Province launches biogas projects and youth environmental awareness program

The Tucumán provincial government, led by Secretary of Production Eduardo Castro, held a meeting with technicians from the Obispo Colombres Agroindustrial Experimental Station and faculty from the Faculty of Agronomy, Zootechnics and Veterinary Sciences. The participants outlined two biogas initiatives that will turn cattle effluent into renewable energy: one targeting small and medium dairy farms and another focusing on larger feedlots, with the aim of supplying families and producers with clean power.

In a separate event marking World Environment Day, the Subsecretariat of Environment organized an outreach day for students and families in the provincial capital. Activities included the distribution of native tree seedlings, garden seeds, educational games, and an ecotrade exchange. The program, part of the Sustainable Tourism initiative, sought to promote everyday environmental stewardship among the community.
