Moldova and Romania report airspace incidents involving drones and missiles FAST-MOVING

On the morning of October 3, the airspace of Moldova was violated by five objects, identified by Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi as three missiles and two drones. The incursions occurred within a 15-minute window between 07:45 and 08:00, resulting in explosions and drone fragments being discovered across the Căușeni, Hîncești, Anenii Noi, and Ștefan Vodă districts. No casualties were reported, though an explosion near Crocmaz caused a vegetation fire and damaged windows at an agricultural facility.

President Maia Sandu condemned the violations, stating that the ongoing war in Ukraine poses a direct threat to the security of Moldovan citizens. The incidents are viewed as a consequence of Russian strikes against Ukrainian infrastructure.

Simultaneously, in Romania, the Ministry of National Defense reported that radar systems detected drone attacks against targets in Ukraine near the northern Tulcea county border during the night of October 1-2. Around 05:00 on October 2, an unidentified object, suspected to be a drone, fell near Plauru, Tulcea, causing a fire but resulting in no casualties or significant material damage. Romanian authorities clarified that radar systems did not detect any unauthorized entry into national airspace during that period.
