Tulum implements new tourism regulation and sports strategies

Authorities in Tulum are implementing new strategies to diversify and regulate the local tourism sector. As part of the ‘Plan Tulum Renace’, the Secretariat of Tourism has registered and credentialed approximately 150 authorized tourism service providers to operate within the Tulum National Park and Jaguar Park. This initiative aims to improve professionalization, order, and visitor confidence by establishing an official registry of authorized operators.

Simultaneously, the state is promoting sports tourism to expand its appeal beyond traditional beach activities. The ‘National Sports Tourism Strategy Tulum 2026’ was introduced, featuring the inaugural ‘Euforia Freedom Tulum’ event scheduled for October 2–4. This multidisciplinary women's sports event will include football, volleyball, and yoga, targeting local and national athletes to stimulate the local economy and promote sustainable development.
