DEM Party advances frame law to strengthen national solidarity

Halkların Eşitlik ve Demokrasi Partisi (DEM Party) co‑leaders Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan, together with party officials, signed the "Milli Dayanışma ve Toplumsal Bütünleşmenin Güçlendirilmesine Dair Kanun Teklifi" in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. The party described the proposal as opening a new chapter in Turkey’s political history, aiming to turn armed conflict into legal and democratic processes and to benefit the country’s 86 million citizens.

Bakırhan said, "This law is a new door opening for Turkey" and emphasized that it is a first step toward lasting peace. Party spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan called the proposal “the first step of a new era,” noting that it moves the country from a weapons‑based conflict to a framework of law and democratic politics. The initiative follows Abdullah Öcalan’s 27 February call for a peaceful solution and is presented as a starting point rather than a final resolution, inviting all political forces to cooperate in building a shared future.

The law aims to strengthen national solidarity, support democratic participation, and address the Kurdish issue through legislative means, positioning the DEM Party as a catalyst for a broader peace and democratic reform in Turkey.
