Tungsten Mining secures all primary approvals for Watershed project

Tungsten Mining has secured all primary development approvals for its 100 per cent-owned Watershed tungsten project in Far North Queensland. The company has obtained its Environmental Authority and Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure Plan, alongside a determination under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act that the project is “not a controlled action”.

An Indigenous Land Use Agreement is currently in place with the Western Yalanji Aboriginal Corporation, and a Cultural Heritage Management Plan has been established with ongoing heritage surveys.

Early site works are already underway, including drilling, geotechnical programs, and access-road construction. The company is also expanding its onsite accommodation facilities, with plans to support over 200 personnel by the end of November. These activities are intended to reduce critical-path tasks following a final investment decision (FID), which is expected later this year. A Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) is scheduled for completion in October, with the company targeting production in the first half of 2027.
