Tunisia arrests activists following march for Resilience Fleet detainees

Tunisian authorities have arrested more than 15 individuals following a large-scale march in Tunis. The demonstration was organized to demand the release of four members of the Resilience Fleet (Sumud Flotilla) who have been detained since March.

The detainees, including Wael Nouar, Ghassen Henchiri, Ghassen Bougdiri, and Nabil Chennoufi, are currently on an indefinite hunger strike to protest their detention and the extension of their pretrial custody. Reports indicate their health is in critical condition, with Nouar having been on strike for 36 days.

Political groups, including the Popular Current and the Labor Party, have condemned the arrests, describing them as an unjustified escalation and a repressive approach against activists supporting Palestinian rights. The arrests reportedly targeted both march participants and members of the support committee at their homes and in public spaces.
