Tunisia's 2026 National Exams See Record Enrolment as France Revamps Brevet Schedule

Tunisia reported that more than 162,000 candidates registered for the 2026 baccalauréat, bringing the total number of students taking the three national exams (bac, sixth grade and ninth grade) to about 256,000. Attendance was 95.44%, with roughly 6,000 absences, and around 150,000 staff were deployed to supervise the examinations.

In France, 853,874 secondary students will sit the 2026 Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB). The continuous‑assessment component has been reduced to 40 % of the final grade (down from 60 %). New rules require a portion of the mathematics exam to be completed without a calculator, and spelling and grammar errors will now affect scores. The exam period has been extended to three days, running from 26 June to 30 June 2026 with a weekend break, and replacement sessions are scheduled for 10–11 September. Result release dates vary by academy, beginning on 7 July.
