Turkey 2026 election poll: AK Party leads, new party secures 19.4%
A nationwide poll conducted by AREA Research from 11‑15 July 2026 shows the AK Party at 34.2% of the vote, with a new party led by Özgür Özel at 19.4%, placing it second. The CHP recorded 11.8%, DEM Party 8.7%, MHP 8.1%, and other parties trailing below 6%.
In Istanbul, an ORC Research poll of 1,650 respondents (17‑20 July) found the AK Party at 34.1% and the CHP close behind at 32.7%. DEM Party received 8.1%, MHP 5.9%, Zafer Party 4.4%, and İYİ Party 4.2%, with smaller parties collectively below 4%.
Both surveys highlight a competitive environment ahead of the 2026 general election, with the new party emerging as a significant challenger to the traditional opposition.
