Turkey adjusts military planning amid regional tensions

Turkey is reportedly readjusting its military planning to prepare for the possibility of large-scale conflict, according to reports from the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet. The Ministry of National Defense is focusing on two main axes: preparing the Turkish Armed Forces for widespread warfare based on international developments and expanding Turkey's military presence beyond its borders.

Following existing installations in Libya, Syria, Qatar, and Iraq, Ankara is considering strengthening its presence in Saudi Arabia, with potential future interests in Africa and Asia. This shift coincides with increased diplomatic activity between Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Iran regarding the formation of a new regional order.

In a related development, high-level officials from Riyadh, Ankara, and Islamabad have visited Tehran to discuss regional security and arrangements. These discussions reportedly addressed the Mecca Agreement and the situation in Yemen, while also focusing on the future regional balance and stances regarding Israel.
