Turkey advances Enez customs port and Aydın‑Denizli highway

The Turkish government is reviving the long‑delayed Enez customs port project in Edirne’s Saros Bay. Governor Yunus Sezer said the facility will handle temporary customs operations and serve nearby islands, with expectations of opening soon. Regional tourism representatives highlighted its potential, noting that the port could attract ferries, bring visitors directly to the coast and substantially boost tourism in the area.

Separately, the Aydın‑Denizli Motorway, 163 km long, marked its second anniversary. Transport Minister Abdülkadir Uraloğlu reported that the highway has shortened travel times, improved links between production centers and İzmir’s port, and facilitated faster movement of agricultural and industrial goods. He also emphasized its role in connecting major tourist sites such as Pamukkale, Efes, Didim and Kuşadası, thereby supporting regional economic growth.
